the reeve biography, discography and other information

No doubt about it, the reeve; also known as "the rev" with a long E sound, likes making music. To date, the reeve has one Cd release (the rev "Dirty Jonzie", 2005) and another Cd scheduled for release in the spring of 2008, (the reeve, Broken Dreams).

The reeve's recipe for making music is simple. From a musical perspective, it's all about playing raw unpolished three-chord pop rock and roll, with a twist of slop funk. From a lyrical perspective, it's all about keeping the lyrics fun, simple and straightforward. The reeve records all of his music in his studio, the reeve nation in Omaha, Nebraska.

The reeve's influences include:

The Rolling Stones, The Fixx, The Cure, Sonic Youth, Drive By Truckers, Pink Floyd, Tom Waits, Warren Zevon, John Fogerty, John Cafferty (Eddie and The Cruisers) Johnny Cash, John Prine, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave, Elvin Bishop, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and Frank Zappa.

A little trivia about the reeve:

  • Ex U.S. Army Helicopter Pilot, Desert Storm War Veteran.
  • The reeve owns and operates his own pseudo nightclub called The Hogg Jack. A very secret, strange, and bizarre kind of place. Invitation only!
  • The name Hogg Jack comes from an actual event that took place in the mid 80's near a small farm in South Eastern Kansas. According to Al Bumin, one hot summer night in 1985, space aliens abducted some of his hogs. Damn Hogg Jackers got away with 22 head of ham steak. For real! I thought by now everybody had heard about The Hogg Jack out at ole Al Bumin's place.
